Science

Regardless of the fields an individual decides to specialize in, the student will develop their mathematics and critical thinking skills. The sciences provide an opportunity for students to develop and learn analytical and problem solving skills, along with a better appreciation and understanding of the physical laws. Choosing a science major depends upon the interests of an individual, their abilities, career goals and education. There are several areas in science that they can select majors from, such as physics, biology, mathematics, biochemistry, computer science and chemistry. A major in science provides many opportunities for scientists in the commercial development and research fields. These areas will allow the scientist to make breakthroughs, advancements and scientific discoveries that will contribute greatly to society. Some of the areas to do this are environmental science, social science, veterinary science, sports science, fire science, biological science, physical science, and political science.

The early coursework in science involves interpreting scientific methods for testing theories, which they do through replicating experiments. Later in their academic career, original development and research of new solutions or theories becomes the focus. In the very advanced programs, professors and science majors work together on important research projects for the university. Often the most advanced programs are more hands-on with cutting edge technology and practices being developed and implemented.
